Living Looonger is an exhibition in NEMO De Studio about ageing, staying young and being mortal. How do you create a campaign that addresses all these big and philosophical topics in a simple and tangible way?
One part of the exhibition is called ‘life hacks’. These are simple day-to-day things you can do to (possibly) extend your life. Things like sleeping and being happy, but also eating turmeric and male castration. These lifehacks become the campaign, and ask the question: how far would you go to live longer?
The campaign shows the philosophical balance between the quantity and quality of life: how much would you impact your daily life to live a few years longer? To emphasise this strange contradiction, people are shown in intense close-ups, going great lengths in using these life hacks, forcing themselves, feeling uncomfortable. These life hacks, together with 22 other life hacks that didn’t make it to the posters, were turned into instructional illustrations.
