Berlin is a city with many faces that now, for once, get to show all these faces in one documentary series. Capital B, produced and shown by ARTE TV, provides an answer to the question ‘Who owns Berlin?’ Is it the people, politicians, or real estate investors? To announce that to the world, ARTE needed a trailer that hinted at the contents, without giving it away.
Because the series showcases the different parties involved in the making of Berlin, and, consequently, the different faces the city has had, and still has, we developed a campaign video that exactly does not show faces. The video poses the question the documentary answers: who owns Berlin?, but obstructs the faces of all potential owners.
Using snippets from the series, the trailer shows a diverse image of the city – the only way you could do the many faces of Berlin justice. Every episode of the documentary series shows a different group: the ravers, the politicians, the artists, the real estate investors. And the trailer leaves it up to the viewer to decide who is who and who owns what (and to what extent).
