Why are band-aids in the Netherlands only available in one color? For the Dutch Albert Schweitzer Fonds we developed bandages is six skin tones that are now available in drugstores across the Netherlands. The project is mutual beneficial because the proceedings go to small local healthcare projects in Africa, which is the core business of NASF. The bandages are manufactured by Koninklijke Utermöhlen.
New form of donorship
Our advice to NASF was to start a subbrand that appeals to a younger audience than their own. That became: ‘Het Grotere Verband’. In it NASF can sell practical medical supplies here to support local healthcare initiatives in Africa. The six color band-aids are the fist product in this new way of generating donors.
