Friesland is a province in the north of the Netherlands with a unique style. Friesland and its inhabitants are quirky; they have their own way of doing things. So when they asked as to develop their brand and come up with a Friesland marketing concept, ‘Friesland style’ was soon to be born. In it we focus on the Frisian no-nonsense character and use their different way of doing things to advertise the beauty of the province.
This year the capital of Friesland, Leeuwarden is Cultural Capital of Europe. As an extension of ‘Friesland Style’ we also developed the campaign this event. The visual identity is illustrated by Ryan Todd and is used for city marketing as well as merchandise. We created an extensive toolkit for all the stakeholders and partners to use in the months to come.
