South By Southwest is a world famous creative and innovation festival, in Austin. It’s coming to London in 2025, bringing with it its unique programmation. For one week, a uniquely diverse range of disciplines will meet with fintech experts bumping elbows with famous movie directors and other creators. Our challenge is to craft a distinct European identity based in East London that honors the original SXSW brand while establishing a unique culture.
SXSW London breaks traditional silos, bringing together the best in music, tech, and film, allowing for “beautiful collisions”—chance meetings across industries that spark inspiration. East London’s own vibrant, diverse culture is woven into the identity, embodying both SXSW’s spirit and the area’s unique character.
Building on the launch campaign, we highlight these interdisciplinary collisions in the festival’s visuals. Animated, sound-responsive textures paired with a bold color palette create a lively, ever-evolving imagery. The festival centers around three key areas—conference, music, and screen—each marked by its own color theme and custom icons inspired by the SXSW arrow. A bold, functional typographic system ensures clear messaging, enhancing legibility against dynamic textures while reinforcing the festival’s structure and energy.
