NEROC’VGM Book vending machine

2004

As a company that generates, manages and handles digital information such as creative design, scanning, retouching, print specifications and graphical workflow management systems, NEROC’VGM has a lot of (complicated) information to share. Rather than do a tradtional ‘trade’ campaign, the recommendation was to create a series of ‘Meetings’ in book form. The resulting books are presented at book fairs and marketing events – in a branded vending machine – as evidence of NEROC’VGM’s expertise to press and clients.

The ‘Meetings’ books asked artists to create a concept that NEROC’VGM could digitally master and publish. Artists such as Hans Eijkelboom, Cynthia Hathaway and Joachim Schmid all took part in the continuing series creating individual editions. Hathaway created a series of stories based on receipts she fished out of a grocery store rubbish bin (to communicate Neroc’VGM’s work for supermarket chains) while artist Batia Suter created outdoor boards made with images of electronic equipment and appliances in odd juxtapositions of time and place (to tell of the company’s work for advertising billboards around the world).
