“DEAR HUMANS, THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM YOUR WINDOWS”

PROBLEM
Due to the worldwide lockdown demanded by the COVID-19 crisis, we suddenly had to stay at home to protect one another. How do we express ourselves and inspire others, without adding to the noise?
SOLUTION
By mobilising our network of creatives, artists and makers. During the Covid-19 crisis, windows have become a highly valued, creative medium: from childrens’ rainbows to emergency workers' messages to photography projects. KesselsKramer wondered if it could celebrate this new medium as a subject matter. This sparked the idea to create a story, break it up into sections, and invite different artists to bring it to life in their home windows.

CREATIVE
A Window To The World is a creative collaboration between KesselsKramer, screenwriter Efthimis Filippou (The Lobster), and 62 artists from all over the world.

A short letter, written by Filippou, describes the windows as objects with emotions that support people. His letter was then divided into sections that were assigned to artists from the KesselsKramer network. In no time, windows were coming in from Tokyo, Nairobi, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Niagara Falls, Berlin, Florianópolis, an Austrian mountaintop, and a Dutch hamlet called Middel.

In less than two weeks, together (apart), we created a film and window collection, starring 62 windows addressing one message to us humans.
